Convergence and Special Support Program, Sustainable Infrastructure Projects Alleviating Gaps (SIPAG), Access Roads and/or Bridges from the National Road/s leading to Major/Strategic Public Buildings/Facilities, Construction of Road Slope Protection Structure, Biga Section, Package 6, Lobo, Batangas
The Biga Section of the road leading to strategic public buildings and facilities in Lobo, Batangas, was vulnerable to slope erosion and landslides, especially during heavy rainfall and flooding. The instability of the road shoulders posed a safety risk to commuters and hindered access to vital public infrastructure, creating transportation challenges in the region.
As part of the SIPAG initiative, a road slope protection structure was constructed to stabilize the slopes, prevent erosion, and ensure the safety and longevity of the road. The project included the installation of retaining walls, drainage systems, and erosion control measures to strengthen the slope and protect the roadway from further degradation.
The successful construction of the slope protection structure improved the stability and safety of the road, ensuring continuous access to major public buildings and facilities in the region. The project has minimized the risk of landslides and road damage, enhancing transportation efficiency and promoting safer travel for both residents and visitors in Lobo, Batangas.
